Jamie Heimos is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT™), and the owner of Balance and Bloom Counseling in Wildwood, MO. She brings a diverse background as a former school counselor and certified child life specialist, though her passion for working with children began in her early teen years at a beloved St. Louis children’s museum.
Jamie is also a children’s book author, with her debut book Rosie and the Dream Fairy published in October 2025 and more stories on the way. Her work is deeply rooted in her own childhood experience navigating an undiagnosed anxiety disorder, which continues to shape her compassionate, relatable approach with families.
She supports parents in building intentional, playful connections with their children, helping them feel more confident, connected, and grounded in their parenting.
Jamie married her husband, Adam, in 2020 as a pandemic bride, an experience that strengthened her appreciation for flexibility, resilience, and finding joy in the unexpected.
Jamie became a mom in 2021 to her daughter, and welcomed her son in 2025. As a St. Louis native, Jamie loves exploring local, family-friendly spots, has recently embraced the Chinese Tile game/millennial mom hobby of mah-jongg, and is rarely without her Kindle. If you need a book recommendation, she’ll gladly give you five.
